a painting made for you
Not a reproduction. Not a print. A single, original work…
built from your story
this is for the ones in transition.
The women who have commissioned work from me have been in the middle of something. Leaving a career. Starting over. Claiming a space — literally and otherwise — as their own for the first time.
A commission isn't just a painting for your wall. It's a marker. A declaration of where you are and who you're becoming. Something that holds that moment so you don't forget it.
And on the days when the transition gets long and hard — it's there. A reminder. A source of strength. Something that holds you when you need it most.
If you're in that kind of season — this is worth considering.
how it works
the conversation
We start by talking.
You tell me what's alive in you right now — the story, the season, the feeling you want the painting to hold.
I listen closely. What emerges from that conversation becomes the map I paint from.
This is where the painting actually begins — before a single mark is made.
the painting
I work intuitively and in layers.
Your painting takes shape over time — built up in texture, color, and mark-making until it feels complete.
Near completion, you'll have one opportunity to review and request adjustments. After that, the work is finished.
Every layer holds something from what you shared. You'll feel it when you see it.
the receiving
When the painting arrives, it arrives as a presence.
Something that knows your story because it was made from it.
This is the one that stays. The one that holds you on the long days. The one that reminds you who you are when you forget.
before you reach out
Commissions are a significant investment — in time, in conversation, and in the work itself.
Minimum size is 24 x 36 inches. From there, size and scope are determined together.
Pricing is shared during our initial conversation. If you're curious whether it's within reach — reach out and ask. No pressure, no obligation.
I take on a limited number of commissions at a time.
*****
“A milestone on my journey...a work of art to remind me of who I am, where I have been and all the possibilities ahead of me.”
Colleen L, Collector
If something is stirring, trust it.
Every commission I've done has started the same way: someone felt the pull before they had the words for it.
If that's where you are — follow it.
