“Heather has helped me come home to myself...I look at Heather as one of my Soul Guides. She has led me to the wisdom of my own consciousness, helped me discover my own truth, given me tools to rediscover my inner self, my soul, my spirit, and the importance of the present moment.”

hi! i’m heather

visual artist. Spiritual director.

And I am on a mission.

A mission to share the truth of the Divine Feminine, a long-buried energy alive within all of us, with the power to erode separation and reconstitute unity with all life.

My work expresses our collective yearning for a gentler way of being in the world while embracing the paradox of our times

…compassionate and powerful…

…formidable and vulnerable…

…peaceful and dynamic...

…seemingly contradictory elements, but in truth, inseparable when we embody the Feminine.

In creating, I find joy in the push and pull inherent in the artistic process, sitting within the tension of opposites as I mix my palette. Move my brush. Collage a layer. Sand the texture.

In spiritual direction, I witness the miraculous unfolding of the human in presence, the indescribable beauty that comes as they recognize their True Self.

the true self awakens

dreams

I always dreamed of being an artist. Succumbing to Corporate America was easier.

Misery accompanied promotion, in clear lockstep with fancy titles, better salary.

Loss of freedom.

My True Self only emerged with my family, at home.

my safe space.

enough

Work became master, demanding all of me. I morphed into a stranger at home.

My life? Creative wasteland.

My career? Joyless, sucking me dry.

The authority I had surrendered again and again to “make it”?

Lost in the wreckage of my world.

And then?

my body said Enough.

Knowing

During the course of a year, a hysterectomy, a breast cancer diagnosis and a bilateral mastectomy joined together and catapulted me off the merry-go-round of my life.

But the craziest part? The relief that coursed through me when I realized I could rest.

I recovered my creativity during treatment, playing while even in my pain. I reconnected to my True Self, to my Divine Feminine.

To God.

And I knew my life as precious, worthy of love.

And in my grief, my joy, my heart:

I remembered I was an Artist.

filling the world with hope, belonging, connection.

Tenets of my Creations

heart windows

Expressive and abstracted portraiture is currently my primary mode, with a focus on eyes.

Emphasizing these heart-windows eases an energetic transfer from the painting to the viewer.

layers as lived experience

Layers are primary, representing lived experience, organically constructed to depict our inherent resilience and a reverence for all life.

Reverence. For All.

confronting false constructs

Fantastical palettes confront societal constructs, the artificial power structures striving to limit human expression and reduce our identity to made-up definitions meant to keep “them” comfortable and us? Impotent and constrained.

Disruptive outlines break traditional walls and illustrate permeability of boundaries, fortifying a true reality comprised of energy, continually in motion.

The viewer experiences an intentional blending in celebration of our oneness, and is invited to release attachment to an identity in flux, where we ponder:

who are we?

“I assure you there is nothing small, nor weak when aligning to the Feminine. Gone are the depictions of tepid figures, pale and powerless in the face of fear. “

Active listening is at my center. I hold a sacred container of curiosity, inviting inquiry with a nod or a quiet acknowledgment. Never jumping in with advice, never second-guessing, never judging. Always encouraging you to seek without expectation, to sink into surrender, to trust your gut.

I leverage creativity as a means of embodied exploration. Allowing hands to work through concepts our minds can’t fathom, but our hearts knows by design. Collage. Painting. Mandalas. Journaling. Free expression uncovers truths within when birthed in a judgement-free space.
